Members win NAUMD Award
Two Universal Unilink Members have won the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors 2018 Best Dressed Public Safety Departments Award. This award honors both the departments and suppliers of the uniform program.
Now in its 41st year, the Best Dressed Public Safety Competition is open to departments across North America. Entries are solicited throughout fall and winter, and winners are announced at the NAUMD’s annual convention each spring. All winning departments and their suppliers receive plaques.
- 2018’s Best Dressed: First Responders, The Orange County Fire Rescue Department. Uniform by Red the Uniform Tailor

Mountville Mills Merger
Mountville Mills Inc. announced the merger of Mountville Mills and The Andersen Company to form M+A Matting.
Mountville CEO, David Hart, said, “Combining the resources of Mountville and Andersen will expand the products and services offered to all of our commercial mat customers. This partnership places our combined companies at the forefront of unprecedented expansion and service within the commercial matting industry” added Hart. This merger will not result in any plant or office closings; it is a reallocation of resources to better serve customers. In fact, positions will be added to support the change.

Mission Linen Supply Facility Accredited by HLAC
Mission Linen Supply’s Lancaster, Calif., facility has earned national accreditation from the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC), the company reports.
HLAC’s recognized accreditation criteria include every aspect of textile processing, from handling soiled healthcare linens to in-plant processing and delivery back to the customer. To earn this national recognition, Mission’s Lancaster facility had to ensure that all products, systems and procedures met HLAC’s high quality standards, the company says.
S&S Opens Atlanta Distribution Center
S&S has opened a new distribution center in Atlanta that will allow the company to offer one-day ship times to southeastern states, including Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. The facility provides greater inventory to customers and create more demand for vendors.
The Georgia facility is the second distribution center S&S has opened in about six months. The supplier also recently established a 493,000-square-foot distribution center in Fort Worth, TX. The Lone Star State facility offers expanded one-day coverage into the greater part of Texas, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Austin. It also covers all of Oklahoma, Northern Louisiana and select cities in Arkansas,.
Ecolab Ranks Eighth on 2018 Best Corporate Citizens List
